VICTORIAN FIREPLACES
Victorian Fires and Fireplaces are probably the most recognisable of the period styles. Small cast iron fireplaces were popular with the trend of bedroom fireplaces but this trend has not continued. The Victorian Fireplace is generally associated with some kind of surround, often wood or limestone, incorporating a cast inner panel. Often the Victorian fireplaces would be of greater height than is considered the norm today; reflecting the greater ceiling heights of Victorian properties. Another feature readily associated with Victorian Fireplaces is the inclusion of ceramic tiles.
