A beautiful family home in Saddleworth. A redundant tunnel fire, dated brickwork, and a room-dividing wall crying out for a rethink. Fireplace Studio Brighouse were brought in to replace the old installation and completely reimagine the space.
The result is a striking double-sided feature that transforms two rooms at once.

The Client
A couple who had recently moved into a spacious family home and wanted to put their own stamp on it. The bones of the property were there, they just needed the interior to match their vision for a modern, stylish family space.
The Brief
The existing room-dividing wall housed a tunnel fire that was no longer in working order and was framed by red brick that felt tired and outdated.
Rather than a simple like-for-like replacement, the clients wanted to seize the opportunity to modernise the entire wall, stripping back the old aesthetic and replacing it with something that would make a real statement on both sides.
What We Installed
Barbas Bellfire Large Tunnel 3
We specified and installed a Barbas Bellfire Large Tunnel 3, a double-sided gas fire designed to be viewed from two rooms simultaneously, making it the natural centrepiece of a project like this.
Alongside the fire installation, we removed the original brickwork and reworked the dividing wall to create a clean, contemporary finish that lets the fire do the talking.

Project Timeline
From initial deposit to completed installation, the project was completed within eight weeks.
Why This Was the Right Solution
Keeping the room-dividing layout made complete sense — it was an architectural feature worth preserving. What needed to change was everything around it.
The Bellfire Large Tunnel 3 is purpose-built for exactly this kind of application, offering a dramatic flame picture visible from both rooms while the redesigned wall gave the whole space a modern identity without altering the flow of the home.
The Result
The clients were thrilled with the outcome.
What was once a dated, non-functioning wall is now a genuine showpiece, a double-aspect feature that anchors both rooms and gives the home the contemporary edge the couple were looking for from day one.
