Fireplace Studio Brighouse designed and installed a Barbas Bellfire Vertical Tunnel media wall fire complete with a bespoke log store, and a Horizon Bell Large set within a purpose-built false chimney breast with integrated TV recess — both elevating the home’s minimalist aesthetic while delivering serious heat.

The Brief
Two living spaces, each needing a fireplace that felt timeless, luxurious, and individual. The clients wanted heat without compromise and design without cliché — something that would complement their considered interiors and become a genuine feature of each room rather than an afterthought.
What Fireplaces We Installed
Barbas Bellfire Vertical Tunnel Medium for The Media Wall
We installed a Barbas Bellfire Vertical Tunnel Medium — a striking vertical format gas fire that takes the media wall concept in an entirely different direction. Rather than the wide-format horizontal fires most commonly seen, the Vertical Tunnel makes a tall, bold statement within the wall. To add depth and character to the installation, we built a bespoke log store alongside it, creating the warmth and visual suggestion of a wood burning setup while retaining all the convenience of gas.
Horizon Bell Large for The False Chimney Breast
For the second reception room, we constructed a false chimney breast from scratch to house the Horizon Bell Large gas fire, with an integrated TV recess built in above. Where electric media walls have become commonplace, this installation raises the bar — a living flame, a substantial heat output, and an architectural feature that anchors the room and frames the television without dominating it.
Project Timeline
From initial deposit to completed installation, the project was completed in approximately eight weeks.
Why This Was the Right Solution
Gas fires offer something electric alternatives simply cannot replicate — a genuine living flame, a generous and consistent heat output, and a quality of presence that reads as luxury the moment you walk into the room. For a family renovating to a high standard with a minimalist brief, both installations needed to earn their place without cluttering the space. They do exactly that.
The Result
Both rooms are stunning and the clients love them. The visions they brought to us have been brought to life in full, with each fire sitting perfectly within the wider decor and adding the kind of focal point that makes a room feel complete.
A step above the electric media wall, and well worth it.
