A couple looking to breathe new life into their living room, updating a space that had started to feel dated and bringing it in line with a modern country aesthetic they were working towards throughout their home.
The Brief
The room needed two things: more heat and more personality. The clients wanted a feature that felt genuinely unique — something that would modernise the space without losing the warmth and charm that a country home demands. The challenge was that the property had no existing chimney, meaning a conventional installation simply wasn’t an option.

We specified the Dik Geurts Oval hanging wood burning stove, a striking, sculptural piece that suspends from the ceiling and becomes an immediate talking point in any room it occupies. To make the installation possible without an existing flue, we fitted a full twin wall flue system, providing a safe and efficient route for the stove to operate in a chimney-free property.
The hanging stove also presented a structural challenge. UK building construction isn’t typically designed to bear the weight of a suspended fire, so we engineered and installed custom hidden wall brackets behind the finish, giving the stove its dramatic floating appearance while ensuring everything is fully supported and completely safe.

From initial deposit to completed installation, the project was finished in approximately six weeks.
Why This Was the Right Solution
